What if?

A simple question with huge implications. Let’s explore the role of risk in the plans for the deep geological repository – and in all of our lives.

Risk alert!

Building a repository for radioactive waste? Speeding down a slope at 100 mph? Working in the middle of a war zone? Defusing bombs?

The first thing that comes to mind in all of these scenarios is… risk. And that’s exactly what we’re exploring from all angles in this issue of our Magazine of the Century ‘500m+’. We unpick the concept, identify the biggest potential threats to humanity and consider how we respond to risk on a cultural level, as a society and individually. Plus, we also take a closer look at how the big question – “What if?” – impacts the work we do here at Nagra.
